jon_tatooles
Good afternoon, We introduced the 633 today. Take a look at the product page: http://www.sounddevices.com/products/633/ Jon
John Blankenship
Congratulations, Jon! As a very long time 302 owner, it looks awesome! My only disappointment is hearing that it doesn't have mix assist. Is that something that might be added in the future? Again, Congrats. Tom Visser
Congratulation Jon, you have a very very successful product on you hands - your going to sell truckloads (understatement for this vernacular) of these.
old school
Congratulations to the whole Sound Devices Team. Well done. CrewC
studiomprd
" your going to sell truckloads " saw a UPS driver carrying in several cartloads of them...
Johnny Karlsson
Congrats! Looks great! (If I didn't already have a 664, I would be at the store to get one of these right now).
Marc Wielage
Brilliant machine, Jon. I applaud you guys for continuing to stay competitive, particularly on pricing. Great job. You might sell a million of these!
studiomprd
The cuff links are nice, too... but I'll wait for v2 of the cheese plate.
Tom Visser
Question for Jon or co. The 664 is a digitally controlled analog mixer. Is this the case with the 633 too, or is the mix done entirely in the digital domain via DSP. 664 AES42 > DA > summing buss > analog our A/D digital output. 633 AES42 > DSP > digital output or D/A analog output? Ze Frias
Not like 664, the mixing happens in the digital domain.
studiomprd
It is not an analog mixer, this product is a digital mixer...
John Blankenship
According to the streaming and screaming videos today, as well as the Trew Audio silent movie, it has analog i/o and the rest is in the digital domain.
Marc Wielage
Much good info in the manual: http://www.sounddevices.com/download/guides/633_en.pdf
Jeff Wexler
The 663 looks to be a very nice machine. I really appreciate the continued commitment to as many dedicated hardware controls as possible. Multiple powering options is a bonus. Not so sure about the joystick --- I only tried that once on a 552 and I didn't like it too much. Maybe one gets used to it. Kudos also to Sound Devices for producing the video introduction --- well done!
jon_tatooles
Kudos also to Sound Devices for producing the video introduction --- well done! Many of our resellers do a good job with video presentations which inspired us to work hard to make it interesting and different. We had a lot of fun with the video and the livestream and hope customers did, too.
Philip Perkins
I thought I wouldn't like the joystick record control deal but got used to it very quickly in my 664. The 633 is a design that shows that SD has really been listening to video audio location soundies about how they do jobs these days, what the real, everyday problems and needs are. Congrats to them. philp
