OmahaAudio
I really appreciate everyone's help and advice! It's occurred to me that one of the ways high-tech start-ups get smart people to work for next-to-nothing is the stock options that the workers receive. If the project is successful then the "bet" of working for very little money up front pays off. How about offering "points" in order to get good people to work for you? They work for not-much/nothing but get, say 1-2% of the net of the first one or two seasons in the show gets sold and is successful. Formal, contractual, definite. You might get some good people willing to invest their time in you and your idea. Just a thought.
Michael Miramontes
Alright, so right now I've started the ball rolling with one of the best Entertainment lawyers around. (thanks a million Brandon for the referral!) I feel a lot better having a pro on my side to assist me with all the "legal stuff" so I can focus on production. If all goes well the sizzle reel will be done in January.
