Jim Hawkins
I'm curious as to how some of you are mounting computers on your carts. I would like to have my MacBookPro on my cart, but only if I am confident it's securely mounted. What solutions have you found for this? Rob Stalder
I solved it this way with a side laptop shelf, but its probably a bit expensive. Sorry (for butting in) couldn't resist. RS

I would recommend the digiplate. looks a lot like the cheese plate that jan alludes to but it can be ordered with clamps that attach your laptop to the plate. I bought it for stand alone playback purposes for my sound utility (after I saw my laptop slide off an apple box), so I got the standard one, which is heavy. get the "t" shaped one for attaching to a sound cart (less heavy). they sell an attachment device that has a baby spud socket and a threaded socket. http://www.nine-volt.com/digiplate-system/ they also have a metal sun shade that I have ordered, but it has not arrived yet, so I can't give you feedback on it
JonG
I’d like to revive this thread. Sadly, nearly all the links above no longer work, and I’d imagine that there are more options available today. I think that having computers on sound carts is becoming ever more frequent, so we may as well get used to the idea of this being a continual hunt! I'm looking for a plate that's just big enough to handle a 13" macbook pro. No arm, and not big. Can't seem to find anything that suits my needs yet. Paul F
I just bought this. Ok, it has an arm. It's smaller than it looks (8-1/2 x 11). I'm going to mount it off to the side of my cart and use it to put my pad on and rest other bits on it. It might be too light for what you want, but maybe it will give you some ideas. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/KM11520BK--k-and-m-115-2-sheet-music-holder

Try looking at "Percussion Trays" on amazon (or your favorite business) there's a lot of different sizes and mounting styles available
Jim Feeley
I was also going to suggest percussion trays. Some are well made... Here's what Sweetwater, a good US online dealer of musical equipment has: https://www.sweetwater.com/c1147--Percussion_Stands_and_Mounts
Bouke
eeh, never owned a sound cart, but my friend has a HUGE one, and he has all kind of 19" drawers. (I had heavy drawer plates in my rack for easy access to beta / digibeta, could handle up to 60 kg or so, bit overpowered, but probably lighter ones can be had / made. Or buy 'off the shelf' drawer profiles that extend enough, and get a piece of thin plywood. Won't break the bank: https://www.meubelbeslagcenter.nl/ladegeleiders/standaard-ladegeleiders-20kg/
BAB414
Thanks for the suggestions. For now, I'm going to try this https://www.amazon.com/Stage-MSA5000-Stand-Laptop-Mount/dp/B00V3A619U
