Just cut the wall warts off. Join the cables to 4 pin XLR. Plug in to DC power supply problem solved. I have 2 I power 9v chargers and 2 I power AA chargers joined to 1 xlr and just use an 12v power supply that I had kicking around

You could try this: http://www.all-battery.com/tn347_tn346combos.aspx

I have one of these chargers and 6 of their brand 9 volts. The build quality of the batteries is crappy (foil peeling off) but the charger is decent. I have tried charging iPowers in it and it seems to work fine but you'd have to do some testing to find out if it really works well.

No wall wart!

Hi John,

I have been using iPower chargers with the supplied wall wart for 7 years now, and they are still going strong. Of course i DON'T use the wall wart too often (maybe about 10-12 times so far), because my iPower charger on the cart feeds off the big Pelican battery through a PSC Cartpower distributor.

I would advise you to just buy the best possible 12V  1 - 1.5A wall wart and solder in a DC jack from Switchcraft, if possible make two of them and you should be all set.

I know you are so far away from me out here, otherwise i would have whipped this up for you in a jiffy...  :)

PS: MORE BATTERIES - i have seen an 8-bay charger i think Tenergy, but i don't know how good it is. I never needed an 8-bay 9V charger - as yet!

My first ipower charger gave way recently - one of the 4 bays stopped working. Otherwise they have been very reliable, in fact i charge my Chinese 'Litelong 680 mA Li-Ion batteries' on them - 3 months of shoot with these batteries and the ipower charger (of course connected to DC 12V on my cart) and it was all very smooth.

  • 2 weeks later...

My original I-power wall wart lasted a few years and then had the cable failure while I was out on the road.

Needed something quick so I went to the local Radio Shack and got this.

At $30 it wasn't cheap and probably could have bought a soldering iron to fix the old wart.

But it's been working well for about two years so...
