soundtrane Posted July 3, 2008 Report Share Posted July 3, 2008 << Important Information for PD-6 Users - Discontinuation of Maxell 8cm DVD-RAM with caddy Attention all PD-6 PD-6 users Thank you for using Fostex PD-6.In a recent statement, Hitachi Maxell Ltd. has announced discontinuation of the shuttered cartidge - held 8cm DVD-RAM disk (model DRMS-V28R.1P) which is recommended for use with the PD-6. However, Hitachi Maxell Ltd, have stated they will continue to manufacture and supply the 8cm DVD-RAM disk. In response to this news, Fostex will start to supply a dedicated cartridge caddy replacement (see below) from March 2008 which acomodates a the 8cm DVD-RAM disk. This means that PD-6 users can purchase 'off-the-shelf 8cm DVD-RAM disks, placing them into the new shuttered cartridge for use with the PD-6.
