RadoStefanov
One unit all gear/wiring power. I am trying to 3d print one piece wireless holder that attaches to the Nomad or Maxx. Ideally the NP1 Cup will be a part of the skeleton. PLEASE ZAXCOM MAKE ONE UNIT NOMAD/RX12. NO WIRES!!!!!!!! or design qrx200 with sma connectors on the bottom instead of the top.... __________________________________________________________________________ I need to make custom size power and RF cables to make it cleaner Space in the middle for NP1 NP1 cup permanently on the bottom. Again ideally the NP1 Cup will be a part of the wireless skeleton. Easy access to wiring which is not a big deal when I can take the one unit recorder/wireless in and out the bag very easy. Side zipper opening. "K-tek StinRay took that Idea from me and I think it is a MAST HAVE on a bag". BNC permanent on a bag for easy interconnection between different antenna setups I have to make straight BNC on the bottom. How it looks from the top. Between 8-9 pounds weight. RadoStefanov
Balance! Compactness! Weight! Easy cable management. Ideally I want to make my own bag that wraps around the gear but it has to wait for after I 3d print the wireless holders. I have to say the best part of the design is the Antenna BNC on the top of the bag. It makes everything so easy!
Jason A
I like the concept. What are you doing for Zaxnet tx? I don't see room for the Nomad antenna.
Jason A
Also, it looks like the new Orca and K-Tek bags have aluminum framing where you mounted your BNCs. Might give a better/more ridged mounting point.

RadoStefanov
Also, it looks like the new Orca and K-Tek bags have aluminum framing where you mounted your BNCs. Might give a better/more ridged mounting point. this is a temporary setup. In the bag that I am designing it has a small square of plastic and it is very rigid. This bag on the pictures the bnc attaches on the fabric reinforced with epoxy and it is very rigid.
jacefivesound
Do you use whips? Does that count as a ground plane? I love this setup Rado, it's so sleek and elegant. Really nice work.
RadoStefanov
I never use whips. Zaxcom RX does not like whips. I use sharkfins on my cart and dipoles on my harness with my bag.
elior
Rado, it's beautiful. The micplexer can be the supplier power of all together? it's safe? (1/2 Amp Max Per Port)
RadoStefanov
No problem with the micplexer and power... Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk
dominiquegreffard
Beautifull work rado! I like the bnc zaxnet mod. How long can your np1 last with all this stuff powered? Can you also power your bag externally?
JDirckze
Nice rig! I never use whips. Zaxcom RX does not like whips.I'm really interested in this statement from you Rado, especially as you are one of the more experienced Zaxcom wireless users amongst us. I use Lectro in the bag, but on occasion I've used my QRX100/TRX900AA when I've needed an extra mic for talent, and I've always been left a little disappointed with range compared to my Lectro's. I'm yet to try out the new XR firmware update as my Zaxcom kit is back at the mothership for a service. Wandering Ear
Whips work just fine. I use whips on my micplexer regularly with great range. Dipoles on the harness are better, as they are away from the bag. http://wanderingear.net
RadoStefanov
It depends from the heat and how much stuff I have powered on. maybe 3 hours. Beautifull work rado! I like the bnc zaxnet mod. How long can your np1 last with all this stuff powered? Can you also power your bag externally?

Now about the statement. Using whips on Zaxcom RX reduces your range by a lot. Even with a recorder and all your gear off Zaxcom RX spreadsRF garbage on itself. when you elevate the antennas you get less noise and better range. So I don't recommend using whips. johnpaul215
There's so many other factors in RF range though. I was recently in rural Panama coffee farm country and had a TRXLA2.5 on one person and a block 26 SMQV on the other. Zaxcom QRX200 with the whips and a 411 with whips receiving. I was getting better range with the Zaxcom, but there are sooooo many other factors that it's impossible to be scientific. More a case of "in my experience, this is what happened". Whatever works! When I add a second QRX200, I'll look into a MicPlexor, or some other antenna combiner, and something else for actual antennas.

Wandering Ear
sorry but whips don't work fine. The reception is very unpredictable then elevated antennas. I agree the elevated antennas work better, I guess we've had different experiences with whips. http://wanderingear.net
fieldmixer
I never use whips. Zaxcom RX does not like whips. Since there are now several Zaxcom RX's, can you specify the model to which you are referring?
