rdnfrm
On August 23rd a friend of mine left my schoeps cmit and a comtek pr-216 receiver in a taxi on the west side of L.A. The serial number on the microphone is 757. If anyone has any information a reward is in order. Message me here.
Eric Toline
Just how do you do that, not paying attention?

Michael Miramontes
This is my CMIT. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My CMIT is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my CMIT is useless. Without my CMIT, I am useless. I never lend my CMIT out.
spaulgal
That's like leaving a child. He should be punished.

Marc Wielage
Just how do you do that, not paying attention? Eh, people get exhausted, they're stressed out, crap happens. I think out of 150 shoots I've left stuff behind maybe 5 times, most of it silly and replaceable (like a $15 stepladder). But I did leave my important "bag o' stuff" on a music video shoot downtown one time, and that had an iPad, notes, a couple of cables, and other major items. Luckily for me, Apple's "Find My iPad" located it, and the studio manager kept an eye on it for me until I picked it up the next morning. Ya gotta wish we had "Find My Schoeps," "Find My Sound Devices," and "Find My Zaxcom" apps...
Michiel
Ya gotta wish we had "Find My Schoeps," "Find My Sound Devices," and "Find My Zaxcom" apps... Well, there's Tile... Unfortunately this is not GPS but Bluetooth so not all too useful.. Anybody knows of a GPS variant on this?
fieldmixer
Problem is this ideal tracking unit needs to have a radio, and subscribed to a provider... Basically a second smartphone left in the gear luggage would do the trick.

A simple rfid chip could work, too, but only short distance
VASI
Now it is late. On 23rd you had to call in the taxi base to ask for a help.
Sandor Gyurkovics
Tough room. Have a Heart people. Anyone ever get deliriously tired and stupid? I have. How does it help to have a dump on someone's misfortune. Perhaps you could also post him a lemon, have him paper cut himself good and deep with the envelope, then squeeze lemon juice on it. Maybe that would also help. Sandor - Vancouver sound guy
RPSharman
Tile will transmit to any device running the App, like Waze. Once Tile becomes a popular item, you can find your Tile via your App if it's close to another device running the App. Problem will be how to mount a rigid plastic square on a mic. jason porter
That sucks. The only taxi I ever take is an airport limo. Twice I left things in the car (phone & a folder with cash and travel documents!!). Both times the driver checked the back seat before driving away. Saved my ass. Needless to say, I now always use the same company. Crap happens.
