Keep them coming!

I had to laugh a bit at the presentation of of the new Rycote windscreen --- lots of talk about how many years they have been working on this exquisite design, it is the windscreen they have always wanted to build! There is mention of the shape and how the parallel lines of all the other (Rycote) windscreens have always caused problems, but no explanation for why they continued to sell the typical Rycote all these years. Could it be that Rycote was feeling the pinch from Cinela and that is what finally motivated them to produce the windscreen they claim to be have been working on for 10 years? Also, consider that the basket is now shockmounted, independently from the microphone mount, again, this is something Cinela has been doing for years. Competition is good, don't get me wrong, it just seems a little self-serving for Rycote to claim that they have incorporated so many wonderful design concepts into this new windscreen making it so superior to their entire line of legacy windscreen designs.
