Adam White
Hey everyone, Anyone using Nanuk cases? Looks like a great alternative to Pelican. Do you have the foam inserts or padded dividers? cheers
ShubiSnax
Are they cheaper? What's wrong with Pelican?
Adam White
Made in Canada. Lighter plastic, I think, yet claims are that the cases are just as strong or stronger. I really liked the handles and latches. Saw them at Trew Audio. Similar prices. Nothing wrong with Pelican, but a bit of competition never hurts. chrisnewton
There's a video rental house here in Ottawa that uses the Nanuk cases and are very happy with them. They also use Pelican cases, but it seems they are switching over to Nanuks. The latches are very dood (no skinned knuckles/pinched fingers. The cases the rental company uses take a real shit kicking, and the Nanuks seem to be working out well. Nanuks are made near Montreal I think.
chrisnewton
sorry, typo: latches are good, not dood, dude.
Guils
I bought a small one recently (Nanuk 915) to carry/store my TC slate. Awesome case, smooth latches (easier to open/close than pelican cases and a lot quieter). As for the price, it's pretty much in the same range as pelican. Maybe a bit cheaper, but not by much.
