Sebastian
I just want to check with those on the forum that use the FreqFinder app with the 'dinosaur' iPhone 4s. I use it often but since upgrading to the new version 2.38 it crashes almost instantly! Anyone else having this problem? With the iPhone 6 now available, is the app perhaps no longer compatible with the 4s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
studiomprd
Sebastian: " Anyone else having this problem? " what is the difference ?? you are having it... " is the app perhaps no longer compatible with the 4s? " you could / should ask the maker.
Zack
I'm on 5s with newest version iOS and freqFinder and all I notice is that the freqs I'm selecting on the selection list do not carry into the final list. Seems broken

Wandering Ear
so?? anyone want to let the maker know about these things..? You're more than welcome to reach out yourself instead of wasting everyone's time posting this kind of repetitive response. There is no dedicated forum for freqfinder, or a contact form on the website, and he is frequently on this forum reading posts exactly like this one. JW has been IME the best way to contact new endian.

Reeder Sound
I'm also having the same issue as Zack. I never realized how much I depend on the FreqFinder app until I couldn't use it. Big thanks to New Endian for all of their efforts in simplifying our lives.
PTA
Same, freqs don't stick.
Derek H
Yes, contact New Endian. Also, anytime freq finder crashes make sure you send the bug report if it asks. I know he personally looks at all of those reports.
Sebastian
so?? anyone want to let the maker know about these things..?Done! James has been super helpful and is on the case. He requested that I activate the error reporting feature on my phone so he can get the info needed to rectify the problem. http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT4305 If anyone is experiencing errors, I suggest you enable this feature too. It'll be very helpful to the boys at NewEndian. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Constantin
bas: " Done! " didn't hurt a bit..? easy enough..? and quick reaction..? And in addition he saved all of us from sending NewEndian an email, too, and (perhaps more importantly), he saved NewEndian from receiving hundreds of emails all with the same questions, and (yet more importantly) he saved NewEndian from having to respond to these hundreds of email. So everyone's happy, right? Except Senator of course
NewEndian
Hi folks, sorry for the delay. I'm just seeing this now. I've had an update pending for a few days now. I even requested expedited review. It shouldn't be taking this long. Unfortunately, at the time that I had posted the fix, I was not aware of the crashing issue. I have been combing through and trying to find these changes that iOS 8 has made that have really been messing with things that were perfectly fine before, but they are not always apparent. And they don't all affect all pieces of hardware in the same way (or the provided simulators which is what I work on mostly). I'm afraid I have to ask for everyone's patience while I work through all of the little things that have been causing us problems. My sincerest apologies, James
Freeheel
Thanks James, Freqfinder is important enough to me that I'll happily delay adopting IOS 8 until it's running right again. Good luck in the troubleshooting. Cheers, Brent Calkin
geordi
James, your previous version had also been crashing instantly on me too - turned out to be a conflict somehow with an adblocker tweak that I use. Odd, since I know that you don't use any ads in your software, and the firewall didn't detect any untoward net connections. When it decided to work for me, it would also crash when entering the map view (or anything that triggered the maps) b/c of a conflict in that app - again it seemed to be trying to tag an ad server and being kicked out. I'll try and locate a log file for you if it eats it again, but it seems to be behaving now. I'm still on 7.1.2, and jailbroken, obviously. NewEndian
Well the app does make a connection on startup because it checks for and downloads any new transmitter types
NewEndian
FreqFinder has been updated and should fix the channel selection issue and at least one cause of crashing. I am aware of the Location Services issue and that has been fixed in the next update. Please let me know who is still crashing, and for whom their crashing issue has been fixed. Thank you all again for your patience. Sincerely, James
NewEndian
I believe with this update, I got most everything fixed. Is anyone still having issues? In particular, is anyone's icon still missing?
johnpaul215
Mine has been stable the whole way. iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1 Granted I haven't been using it as much lately, running mostly Zaxcom transmitters, less mics than I often do, not working with other mixers, and I've been working overseas, but I haven't had the crashes other people are reporting. Thanks for being on top of this though!
