AndyB
Hi all. A friend of mine wants to pursue working as a VO artist for local radio commercials and such, and asked me to help him with a demo recording. I told him I could help with that, no problem, but wouldn't have the first clue as to getting the demo into the right hands. Anyone here have any experience doing this sort of stuff? My best guess is to just cold call the local radio stations and ask to speak with their marketing dept or something like that. Thanks for any advice! John Blankenship
Radio stations more often use their own talent for spots. Send a demo to the creative departments of ad agencies. He'll have better results if he does his research and sends to specifically identified individuals rather than just mass mailing. "Dear Occupant" is a turn-off. studiomprd
I have installed a number of ISDN, and more recently IP (Internet) CODEC studios not only for VO talent, but also for DJ's who do their shows from home (or other locations)... they have full duplex capabilities to actually conduct full remote sessions. AndyB
Thanks guys! I'll pass along these ideas, and in the meantime get started on producing a demo for him.
