chrisyking
Hi Does anyone know the technical differences between Wisycom MTP40S and MTP41? I know the MTP41 has one battery but also I noticed it doesn't have a limiter. Are there any other differences? Cheers Chris

chrisyking
Thanks Mike. Nothing on the website unfortunately.
Derek H
40 can do 100mW (USA version), 41 is limited to 50mW. Call Gotham or Trew and talk to them, they've had hands on with them for awhile now.
chrisyking
The EU version of the 40 can only do 50mW also. It has to be limited to 50mW to get CE approval I think. Good ole EU again!! As far as I can see the only difference is the limiter but I wondered if there was anything else in the circuitry? chrisyking
I got one of each with the July Wisycom deal. I thought from what the seller said that they were exactly the same but one has one battery, but it turns out there are deeper differences. I bought four: one 41, and three 40's two of which were unlimited to 100mW. I saw a guy on youtube who seemed to think there might also be a difference in the audio circuitry. Maybe I should ask Massimo Polo?
VM
I got one of each So maybe you can hear and noticed any difference ? And then tell about their difference ?
chrisyking
Well they seem to sound the same, but I haven't had chance to really test them yet. I guess with one not having the limiter you'd only really tell with door slams etc. My question was really about the electronics.
matadams
MTP40S has additional anti-intermod electronics and a limiter compared to MTP41. Older MTP40 has the anti-intermod but no limiter.
DanieldH
MTP41 is not compatible with PHA48
VM
I have 2 MTP40 without limiter. Setting them at the cos 11 preset it works perfectly. Sometimes my actual talents are shouting very loudly, without any sound problems.
chrisyking
cos-11 preset? What's that?
chrisyking
Sorry found the cos-11 preset. Cheers for that.
VM
Edit of my last post: today I minus of 3dB the cos 11 preset...It works perfectly.
chrisyking
so you use -9db?
VM
The cos 11 preset is set at -8 dB so with minus 3 it gives - 11 dB.
chrisyking
O.K. thanks. Out of interest I have my MCR42 receiver running into channel 4 and 5 of my sound devices 633. I seem to have to put the line level right up to +12 on the MCR42 to get any level on the 633, pus a bit of gain on the 633. The MCR seems quite low line level. Is this normal? Will I get any noise floor issues doing this?
