PelicanSound
I'm wondering if anyone has essentialy taken an Ambient Eumel and built their own. Or the Tram-tr79 adapter.
Marc Wielage
Oscar Sound Tech also makes an inexpensive phantom-power adapter for their TA5 lav mics (which are essentially identical to Trams): http://oscarsoundtech.com/
Christian Spaeth
OST say however that the adapter isn't guaranteed to work with any lavs other than their own. Buy at own risk.
PelicanSound
I was looking to build the adapter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rick Reineke
"OST say however that the adapter isn't guaranteed to work with any lavs other than their own. Glen Deakin
Remote Audio used to make one. Not sure if they still do. Never saw one but they did have on their site awhile back.
ProSound
You need an Ambient Eumel it has a switching circuit in it so it will work with anything wired TA5 http://www.trewaudio.com/store/Ambient-Eumel.html
PelicanSound
Thanks. I was hoping I could just build a circuit to bring down the 48v phantom but I'll just buy the eumel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have confirmed it will work with Trams and Countrymans if they have the same TA5 wiring. OST was willing to modify their adapters for me so that they work correctly with Servo wiring. I think they're actually superior to the real Tram phantom-powered adapters.
Shawn D
Yes, it's straight forward wiring. If you buy a mic with the xlr adapter you can cut that off and put TA connectors on between them. The benefit of the Eumel is it's much smaller which I think is worth it. The benefit of the xlr adapter that comes with your mic is that it will output the precise DC voltage your lav wants to see, but at the expense of one more connector which could potentially fail.
