COS-11 windscreen

But what's the point of changing it for the worse?

I guess their thought was that potentially losing a windscreen was better than potentially losing a microphone due to the mesh cap being separated from the body of the mic. Like I said, I've had customers needing to have their mics go out of commission and need to be repaired because of this, so it seems valid to me.

Just on a side note. I lost the actual mesh screen on my cos 11. can this be repaired. I' hate to lose a good working microphone because of this tiny piece of mesh.

Thanks

Wilcox Sound advertises that they repair COS-11 mics.  I haven't used their service, but it might be a good option.  Plus-24 is the U.S. Sanken distributor.  If they have any spares you could easily glue one on -- just be careful not to get any glue on the capsule.
