Todd Weaver Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 The TARDIS has been updated with some new toys. Follow cart also updated.
Todd Weaver Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 GR1 master clock. The zaxcom bag breaks with a couple of cables that are 100 percent digital from the transmitters to deliverables and becomes the mobile rig. Made sense to me to have the master clock ride with that.

Made sense to me to have the master clock ride with that. Good idea, having the master clock in the rig that can be mobile. It's a great looking cart (I've put it up in the Gallery of Sound Carts) burt for me, way too heavy I'm sure. You're in the zone, certainly, with all the other mega-case based carts.
Todd Weaver Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 It's really not too heavy. All aluminum cart. It weighs in around 100lbs by my estimation without the extra battery. With everything on it is pulling around 10 amps, so I'll need that for some situations, but all in all, not too shabby.
Karl Wasserman Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 That follow cart is bangin. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Todd Weaver Posted March 18, 2015 Author Report Posted March 18, 2015 I love it! Everything has a foam home shaped like the everything that goes there. My utility commented after coming back from another show about how much he missed it.
Alan H. Chang Posted March 18, 2015 Report Posted March 18, 2015 Love your setup Todd! Is your utility cart 8020? The QL1? sending individual bus to each input to the Zaxcom recorders?
Todd Weaver Posted March 19, 2015 Author Report Posted March 19, 2015 Cart is designed by me and custom welded and probably redesigned by Jayson Dozer in Atlanta. RX-12 goes AES into nomad for sample rate conversion and nomad also takes an AES feed from the QL-1 for Backup.
Philip Perkins Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 Howz the QL1 working out? I've never been much of a fan of the 01v96 and Yam boards of that generation, but I think the new gen of Yamaha digital boards are really a step up in sound quality. philp
dfisk Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 How do you deal with the mixer when you have to transport the whole rig? It looks like it'll stick out all the time.
TomBoisseau Posted March 19, 2015 Report Posted March 19, 2015 I just picked up the Yamaha QL5. Same board, just more channels, ands larger. Obviously not for location. Pretty amazing unit! It will be used for live events and larger webcasts. I still use an 01V96i on my cart however. Tom
Todd Weaver Posted March 19, 2015 Author Report Posted March 19, 2015 It really does sound very fat! David, it fits just fine in the case and the covers can go on it if I need to ship it. The mixer is on a sliding and locking shelf.
Jason Todd Posted March 3, 2017 Report Posted March 3, 2017 I know this is an older thread, but this is a very cool cart. Too big for my purposes, but very slick.
