pvanstry
I have a shoot coming up where I might need to use a 788-CL9 combo. I used a 788-CL8 before but never a CL9. My question is simple, can I make the gain on the 788, functional so that I can make trim adjustment directly on the 788 while using the cl9. ben lowry
No, when the CL-9 is connected, the 788T's front panel gain knobs only function as on/off switches for the channel. Ben Lowry

Karl Wasserman
Pascal, the large knob at the top of each CL-9 strip functions as a gain knob, in the event that you want to tweak on the fly while rolling, as I suspect you might... : ) You're going to like it. The CL-9 also gives you access to the EQ section of the 788T and let's you fool with the output matrixing in ways that might not have occurred to you when using the recorder with the CL-8. Plus, you know... FADERS. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
