Lee Parker
Hey everyone, I've had my SD 664 for a while now and would like to know more about using the 664 to generate timecode. I've done the usual searches but only seem to find "skim over the surface" type results, or results that seem to expect an already good knowledge of timecode. I guess what I'm looking for is, what the settings in the 664 timecode menu mean and actually do? Sorry for the Newb questions. Cheers Lee. Matt Radlauer
Did you try looking at the manual? It has a nice break down of what all the functionality does..And for a more broad look at Time Code..I would suggest google...bing...yahoo search? Lee Parker
Yeah, the manual was my first stop, but that was one example of not having the intimate knowledge of time code, making it hard understand what was being written about? Maybe I'll go back and have another look at it[emoji106]
mark kirchner
Hi Lee, Here are 3 books that maybe worth tracking down for a more complete understanding of time code. Philip Perkins
Also, the phone support people @ SD are very helpful. Have the machine in front of you and fired up w/ all your cables handy when you call. philp

JDirckze
Who is the Senator? Some say he was half man, half beast. Others say he only appears around NAB time...

Matt Mayer
Lee, This is a pretty large subject to be covered in a bunch of forum messages. This is a good place to start for some basics: http://www.philrees.co.uk/articles/timecode.htm
