Eric Toline
This always works. In the TA-5 jump pins 2 & 4, pin 1 is ground everything else goes to pin 3. Pin 5 is for line level input.
LarryF
Is there a universal wiring format I can use please? mike Hi Mike, Check on the Lectro website under mic wiring and you will see very specific instructions for universal B6 wiring for UM400 and UM400a. The B6 is unhappy at voltages over 3 Volts. The universal wirings listed lower the voltage to the mic from 4 Volts to a B6 usable 2 Volts on both the UM400 and 400a. Wiring it as a "standard" lavaliere (like everybody else) will result in very high noise as the Zener in the mic is driven into conduction. At least this is what Karl told me years ago and customers tell us today. That's why there are select voltages on the new SSM with specific voltages for the B6. Best Regards, Larry Fisher Lectrosonics
