JonG
I did and he’s no longer doing them. I found someone else who’s been converting them since Pete stopped doing it: https://billthompson.us/bt/

Bill Thompson sure looks like he has the background to do a solid job with these conversions. (I'll ask him if he'll also do 416T-->416P 🙂)
Philip Perkins
It looks like he has made a very nice looking 8 chan trafo mic pre based on Ashly designs. That he was a boss at Ashly in their analog period speaks well of him to me!

He was even able to undo the blue dot that one of them had, as well as make a minor repair another had on the interior. Highly recommended. Philip Perkins
That is really great news. I had a good email exchange with Bill, he said he would give servicing Pete-modded CMCs a shot too. Unfortunately that 8-chan pre he made was a one-off and he isn't doing them any more.
JonG
Unfortunately he isn’t converting 416s either. I’m not sure what Pete did to convert them, but it sounds like it’s a lot more of a process than with Schoeps mics.
DSatz
JonG, "correcting" the blue dot (now known as "+5 dB") setting involves nothing more than disconnecting one solder bridge on the circuit board and connecting another, adjacent one instead. The CMC 3--, 4-- and 5-- amplifiers all came with schematics showing where in the circuit these bridges were. --best regards

Nevertheless, it was something that he offered to do while he was converting the power.
DSatz
Very good. Glad you could get that done in a reliable way. --best regards
