Jim Rillie
Hi everyone, I have become addicted to scrolling sides on my iPad versus the old taping the sides together, etc for long scenes. However, as we all know these days, nothing is writ in stone. The scene often takes on a new shape with deleted lines, and added lines as the script is "honed" during rehearsals and last minute read-throughs on set. Is there an app out there that will let me edit the PDF of the script the way I used to do in pencil - cross out things, write cues in etc, but still be able to sort of see them when the actors revert to the as written version, which often does happen... We are a small market and I realize that, has anyone found something existing that would suffice? Regards, Jim Rillie

Constantin
I use forScore. I can draw in various colors on the script and I can also cross lines out and type in new ones, although you can't edit the original text, only add. But you could cross text out with a white pen and make them invisible. And I have a bluetooth pedal with which I can turn the pages with my foot, keeping my hands free. Sound Intuition
How is it using the pedal? I saw that when Zaxcom introduced the Deva32 at NAB and thought what a pain in the butt that would be. Try laying that on the ground on location. It just seems like one more thing added to the cart. You just need to tap an area on your ipad to turn the page. For me the pedal option is a bonus, so I can keep my hands free. I keep it in my bag and just put it on the floor when I feel like it
Jim Gilchrist
PDFpen 2 is pretty nice, though I haven't used to for sides I have used it to combine and edit PDFs on the fly. It's pricey and there is a companion app, PDFpen Scan+, that's available as part of a bundle that lets you scan documents with the phone's camera and create PDFs that are searchable. The in-app OCR is pretty cool as well. Best regards, Jim
JonG
I'd like to find a solution that involves being able to use CL-WIFI as well, without having to have two iPads
RLightstone
What, you guys don't have a page turner working for you? Edited June 25, 2015 by RLightstone
Marc Wielage
Ah, another Craigslist position: "Wanted, iPad page turner for sound mixer... $50/day or 10 cents/page, whichever is lower."
mikewest
Yes but I like a bit of paper. Recently worked on a 6 week shoot and the script person had it totally under control on an iPad! Script, notes, continuity, DPR, very impressive. mike

One app, controls the recorder, displays script and you can do the sound report with it
JonG
sounds like the Ambient solution is for you. One app, controls the recorder, displays script and you can do the sound report with it I went to the Ambient seminar here in Los Angeles. I think there are a lot of interesting ideas at work, but in order to achieve the full Ambient concept, it would need to be implemented into production long before Sound is brought on board, and they would need to find a way to get everything to work without the use of Wifi or their own 2.4gHz network. I dont see the Script Sup giving up the programs they already use and having to log off of the internet in order to get TC. I also loath the day everyone on set is looking at an iPad trying to fill in a bunch of data instead of paying attention and getting the actual job done. As far as the app just for sound. Well, again, some cool ideas, but I am already invested into the Sound Devices system, and I already hate using Wifi devices if I dont need to be (would much rather be able to plug an iPad directly into the 788 instead of using a wireless network, be it the CL-Wifi or the Ambient Beetle).
