ProSound
I just downloaded a trial copy of boom recorder I am doing some simple recordings this weekend and thought I would try it out. I am trying to use it with a mbox mini but it isn't finding it. Any suggestions?
Guest jimg
Hi, Whitney See if the interface is shown in the Audio/Midi Setup utility. It's in Applications, Utilities I think. Then select the interface in the Sound preferences panel. Restart BR and it should be able to find the interface. Best regards, Jim
bcopenhagen
Try Jim's suggestions. You can also look in your System Preferences to see if there is a pane for Digidesign MBox 2, at the bottom under "Other". If there is, click it, and check the settings for it. If not, you should check that you have the Digidesign CoreAudio plugin installed. That allows the MBox to be used by any Core Audio application (which Boom Recorder is...). Look at the following path: MacHD>Library>Audio>Plug-ins>HAL If there is no Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin, then you'll have to install it using your Protools installer. If you have Protools on your system, it should be there, as the option to install it is checked by default when you install PT. If you don't have PT on that system, you need to install the Standalone CoreAudio driver. Let us know how you do. Brian
Philip Perkins
It should work, but I couldn't get an older MBox one to work on my G4 laptop. (USB) Philip Perkins
nawvernmonkee
If it helps I use an MBox2 pro with Macbook Pro and Boomrecorder and it all works fine. Brians suggestion is a good one though, I think all that happened automatically for me when I installed the accompanying protools software. All the best Darren

(USB) Philip Perkins Hi Philip, I have been using the [older] MBox with a Titanium PowerBook G4 [even older] and Boom Recorder for some time. Do you have all the PT software/drivers installed?
