He is recording live music, mostly acoustic performances and is looking for a more realistic headphone experience. He is currently using blue tooth capable Go Pro's. I would like to know if anyone has heard of a handheld recorder that will supply the proper bias voltage to the two "ear mounted" electret capsules, while being capable of transmitting the audio to the GoPro's, via blue tooth? daniel Posted October 31, 2015 Report Share Posted October 31, 2015 http://tascam.com/product/dr-22wl/ http://tascam.com/product/dr-44wl/ Wifi not bluetooth, the '44' has XLR connectors and should power most mics. the '22' has plug-in power on minijack and will power something like soundman binaural mics. The recorders wont pair directly with gopro (BT) but you can send audio to an ios device and use HP O/P into gopro. I imagine there would be a fair bit of latency in this system and if binaurals are being worn by a live operator then 'rubber necking' the next shot etc will make the recording difficult to use. A cheaper analogue radio mic running into the GoPro might be an option, or even just having the internal mic on and sync with pluraleyes etc Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My next question was wireless transport and level control, which this has. Also the fact it uses AA batteries rather than internal is a plus. How convenient will it would be if we could control our pro rigs via app and monitor back. The latency is an issue, true. Plural eyes should cover sync, just fine.
