Zaxcom´s TRXLA2 vs TRXLT2

Other than physical size there are only two other differences between the LT and LA. One is the LT has one battery vs two in the LA. The other thing is the LA has user selectable output power levels (25, 50 and 125mW) while the LA is set at 50.

The LT only does 50mW because anything higher puts too much of a demand on the single AA and the run time is quite short.

Will it "outperform" because it has higher output power?

Not necessaraly.

125mW in some situations may be better and in some worse but it's nice having the option. I personally usually set the power level on my LA's to 50mW perhaps 95% of the time. But there are times I need and use 125.

Has anyone tried to convert a TRXLA to LT? In some situations the size of the LT would be useful
So besides getting an empty LT case from Zaxcom would there be something else to change?
Maybe a mod to allow the TX to work with only 1.5v instead of 3v?
