Prahlad Strickland
I was shooting yesterday when the erx feeding the camera suddenly sounded like an 8 bit distorted signal. Like if u took a clean signal and distorted and 8 bitted it. Now today. 3 within 2 hours of each other have done the same thing. I own 6. 2 r still good. Just bad luck? Anyone experience this? Only about 6 months old.
John Blankenship
Check your encryption settings.

Constantin
I have pretty much given up on my ERXs for this reason (mostly). Antenna, amp/no amp, makes no difference. Just can't work with them with that sound. Encryption would be something to check, although I would never have deliberately used it
Prahlad Strickland
I'll check it out. But these were working. And all of a sudden. Very strange
Matt Martin
I've had that sound happen when I switched my recording sample rate to anything other than 48khz. The green reception light on the ERX turns to red but the unit still receives and outputs audio (but sounds glitchy/8-bit). I don't think this is the issue you are having since you said it started happening out of nowhere, but just thought I would mention it. I did contact Zaxcom about this and they said it was normal since the IFB audio in zaxnet (coming from the nomad) has to be 48k to work properly. This was a while ago and I'm not sure if this was ever changed down the road. Just FYI.
