Wandering Ear
Thanks John. I have tons more I'm still working on processing, including several Aurora borealis timelapses, but work has been so busy I haven't gotten to them. The a6300 looks great, and Sony's new auto focus systems are great. Focus on the a7r is a pain, but on the a7r ii it's great, and the a6300 will have more detection points. Jim Feeley
Alas, the A6300 lacks the pretty neato image stabilization of the newest A7 cameras and, um, something else. For me, the A7rII leads the Sony pack, if you can afford it. 42-megapixel stills. UHD video is in an almost APS-C crop rather than full frame, but I'm tired of the Deep Out Of Focus look anyway, and the crop probably improves matching DoF with the FS7. No S-Log3, but does have S-Log2. Not the kinda-beyond-really-useful low-light characteristics of the A7s and A7sII, but pretty dang good for most low-light situations. And did I mention the lovely stills? Here's the super-duper-looper long review from DP Review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sony-alpha-7r-ii And a more video-centric review: https://www.cinema5d.com/sony-a7rii-review-first-impressions-footage/ I'm not totally sold on the camera, though I am largely sold on it... Anyone here own or have experience with the A7rII?
