Joel C Hernandez Posted February 4, 2016 Report Share Posted February 4, 2016 Has anyone had any problems with clothing fabrics staining DPA lav mics? I have a white DPA 4061. I've had this particular mic for about 6 months and I never had any problems. I'm currently on a doc shoot and the interview subject was wearing a dark, rayon type shirt. When I took the lav off I noticed a purple stain on a small section of the cable. We were indoors the whole time and I'd say the lav was only on for about 1-2 hours. Has anyone had this problem with white lavs and if so, have you had any luck cleaning them? It's not so much about aesthetic, I just want to avoid it happening again if possible. Rick Reineke Posted February 5, 2016 Report Share Posted February 5, 2016 If water/detergent doesn't work, try a non-chlorine bleach-water solution.
