Mick
Anyone know of a place that'll fix a Black Magic monitor 8" rack? Pic attached thanks mick
John Blankenship
I'd pull the back off first and see if it's something simple like a broken input wire. Next step would be to contact Black Magic Design and see what they say. Unfortunately, I've only heard disappointing things about their support -- but maybe they've changed. Johnny Karlsson
The BNC connectors are soldered straight onto the board, and therefore the whole thing is a bit fragile. Myself and others have mounted connectors on a small panel at the back of the rack, with short cables permanently connected from there to the monitors. That way, connecting/disconnecting never happens on the monitor itself. i have personally never dealt with BM support, but their reputation is consistent with what JB says above. I would still try them first.
Wandering Ear
I also do what Johnny describes because I've had my BNC's broken before. Blackmagic was a pain to deal with. I think the repair took around 3 weeks, but they would never give me updates, I had to keep calling and waiting on hold to speak to someone, who then didn't have accurate answers.
