Phil Palmer
Anyone with any experiences with this particular antennae design? Specifically, is it any better than our regularly used "shark fin" style antennae? Thanks! pwp
Richard Lightstone, CAS
Phil, Joe Foglia has been working with this product for at least 2 years. I also think that Mark Ulano is also using them. Maybe they will give us their thoughts. Merry Christmas. RL
John Steigerwald
Phil, I've been using them for area coverage on some reality installs and they've performed wonderfully. In a house on a show last season, I placed one upstairs and one downstairs, both in a central location, and had spotless reception. -Steigs
studiomprd
The CP antennae work very well for sporting events broadcasts; in particular picking up a sideline reporter's handheld from the radio broadcast booth...
Philip Perkins
Is the "stovepipe" the antenna with the flat back-plate and the Lexan tube on the front? I think someone in Las Vegas was making them... Philip Perkins
Phil Palmer
I think if you used this system with a Sharkfin or a Dipole you may not see any improvements overall as they work best in pairs and powered. Don't believe they are powered. Perhaps they mean the runs have amplification due to length. pwp
studiomprd
I believe you are referring to the CP antenna that James Stauffo designed which is also marketed by Shure.
