cinetj Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 I'm getting this weird noise in one of my g3 receivers. The noise is only there when the receiver is off. If I turn it on, it disapears and the unit is working fine. But I still would like to know: what is this...?? 0327021.WAV

chrisnewton Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 I believe the output of the G3 is an unbalanced connection. the noise may be caused at the input of your mixer/recorder, which wants to see a balanced signal
Rick Reineke Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Possibly some kind of external switching noise sneaking in, the three 'hits' are spaced exactly at 6.7 sec. Do you mean "when the transmitter is off? If so, you could try a higher squelch setting, the EK100 receiver's default is minimum.. (if that's the model you have). For the EK100 and most other unbalanced connections, XLR pins 1 & 3 are tied together.
John Blankenship Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 What troubleshooting steps have you taken to isolate the problem?
