PhforAndAfter
Hey ladies & gents - Anyone familiar with this mic? I have one rented for a show on Monday and I'm not getting anything out of it. It's wired into an AT8531 power supply (also supplied by rental house). It's powered on, but the XLR out of it gives me no signal. Am I doing something dumb? The cable out of the mic is a Ta4 and the the female end on the power supply is ta3, which seems odd, but it's what was supplied and the cables fit fine. Before anyone says RTFM, I can't find one anywhere online. The rental house is closed too. Thanks! acdave
I found this online. http://www.angelfire.com/funky/plinkoman/sonyecm51.html It mentions that the mic needs an N type battery. Hope that helps!
mulluysavage
I preferred the Match Game extended look. Also preferred that show. I've heard the Alec Baldwin reboot is good. Anyone see it? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk Since it's telescoping, maybe I get one as a boom pole backup. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
Rick Reineke
Probably the power supply/connection are not compatible and/or it requires the 'N' cell battery, which the old ECM-50 lav also required. I used to get mismatched audio gear from video rental houses,
PhforAndAfter
Thanks for the help guys. I'll grab an N cell and try it out. I didn't realize the mic itself had an internal battery.

Just because the cables fit ( they shouldn't ) does not mean they are electronically connected.

It seemed very odd to me that the M and F pins were different. Probably the rental house's screwup.
