berniebeaudry
I have a friend who wants to use some Sony UTX-B2 transmitters for a camera link. Line level into the tx from the mixer. The tx has the ability to input line level. Sony sells this cable. Sony EC-1.5BX 3-pole Locking Mini-Plug to XLR Cable (Female) The locking 1/8th inch is nice but not a deal breaker. The big question is, what is the pin out of this connector? He needs them right away and doesn't have time to order one so I'm helping out by making him some. I've looked and looked on line and can't find any wiring schematics. Does it need to be unbalanced or will a balanced configuration work? Thanks! Eric Toline
AFAIK:Sony uses the ring for the audio input The connection is unbalanced with pins 1 & 3 on the xlr tied together at the ground. Pin 2 of the xlr is your positive audio to the 3.5mm TRS connector.
berniebeaudry
Thanks Eric, I had a feeling it would need to be unbalanced. I appreciate your help! BB
