postaudio
Hi what kind of cables would you recommend for making 4pin XLR to lectro or hirose? Remote audio uses 14awg and 16 awg I think. Do you have a link or website to recommend? Thanks
Eric Toline
14 & 16 ga is too heavy and not needed for 12-16volts dc. 20-22ga wire will do the job and is easier to get into the 4 pin Hirose connectors. Pin 1 is negative, pin 4 is positive.
jason porter
I've been using Canare L-4E5C (I believe that's the model#) because it fits perfectly in the Hirose shell.
RPSharman
I've been warned against shielded cable for power due to higher risk of shorting if cable is damaged.
Rick Reineke
The Canare L-4E5C is the mini star-quad. The Canare L-2E5 is the 2-conductor shielded mini cable which would work too... Both are about 4 or 5mm. Just cut back the shield. 24 or 22g would be adequate for our low amperage usage.
