Tuhiva
Hello, Before purchasing a DPA Slim i went through most discussions about this microphone on this forum and most users seem to recommend the hi sens version (4060) for normal use (interviews, dialogues). I use mine with a SMQV, no microdot, the microphone was already wired TA5f when bought. However, I have to go down a low as 8 on the transmitter preamp to get usuable level and above all a bakckground noise level that is acceptable. Never went down below 12 on a SMQV (I use Tram, B3, B6, 4071) unless for extreme shouting. My question is, will a low sens version be more adequate to use with a SMQV for interviews and normal dialogues recording. Thanks
SYsounds
Hmm I would re check the ta5 termination. I have the high sense slims as well. Though hotter than a cos-11 they still sit around 18-20 for normal dialogue. Using mine with microdot and ta5 adapter
Nate C
It may need a different value resistor in the TA5. I had to use a different value resistor to what Lectro recommend to get a similar gain to as when using a COSS-11. This was years ago, so I don't remember if I went up or down in value.
