Thomas G Kovacs
Hello, I have been using reel to reel and cassette recorders since 1969. In my humble opinion: Uhers are fantastic... when the work as advertised, but something always goes wrong. Revox: A77 beautiful, but finicky and a little crude Nakamichi: Fantastic when they work, 1000 is best ever, not the Dragon Tandberg: seems nice Overall Teac and Akai are the most useful. Never owned a Tascam. Now in the market for a Nagra or Stellavox. They look like medical instruments, but I have to have one, just to see... LAR
I have been hoping to acquire a portable Nagra, although most are outside of my price range. There is a Nagra III on www.HiBid.com right now. Granted it has a few day to go, but is currently very inexpensive. What would be a good baseline price for such a machine? Is there a "BlueBook" of sorts for audio valuation that I could refer to? Thanks! L.
