Twade
I know we're leaving the winter months (however slow it may be) but what about traveling to the cold with an internally cabled boom? Are there better cables inside the different booms? Do any become brittle in the cold? Should you take a boom where you could remove the cable easily (VDB, PSC?) Would you recommend one over the other? Lightwave? Ktek? VDB? PSC? Thanks
rich
i did a job a few weeks ago, which was outside alot of the time and i was using my shiny new loon pole with internal cable along with a loon curly cable. had no problems with either the internal cable or the jumper cable - they are the same cable. though a quick (and not very thorough in case someone points out that i missed it) look at the website doesnt give any indication if their 1018 cable was selected to maintain flexibility in low tempratures i should point out that it was only around 2-4 degrees C so probably not as cold as some will have experience of, but it was cold enough for me. Guest Ken Mantlo
Used my internal cabled Vdb in -40 and no problems. It was the thick cable, not the thin.
