Joe Mullins Posted June 4, 2017 Report Posted June 4, 2017 Has anyone tried charging SWIT S-8073N NP-1 batteries on the IDX JL-2Plus charger? These batteries offer higher capacity, 2 d-taps, and are cheaper than the traditional IDX NP-1's. Quote
Glen Deakin Posted June 4, 2017 Report Posted June 4, 2017 Won't work well sprta. The jl2 plus has specific contacts which give extra reading to the charger. The swit batteries may charge but the charger may not know when enough is enough like with the IDX batteries Quote
Philip Perkins Posted June 5, 2017 Report Posted June 5, 2017 The Swit charger (2 bay, sequential) is only about $190, and it seems to work fine with those simple orange NP1s.... Quote
Constantin Posted June 5, 2017 Report Posted June 5, 2017 I'm using the IDX K2 (I think it's called) charger and it works fine on non-IDX batteries. And it stops charging when they are full, and, more importantly, it can charge a fully depleted battery, something my no name charger can't achieve Quote
newzhack Posted September 27, 2017 Report Posted September 27, 2017 I have been using one with the varizoom charger with good resultsSent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

Ed Denton Posted July 9, 2024 Report Posted July 9, 2024 I’ve tried to charge the newer IDX NP-9X batteries with both a Swit 2-channel slot charger and a Global Media Pro charger. It will not charge it properly, at least not all the way to full. Probably due to the IDX batteries being much higher capacity so the charger is cutting off before it gets to full. Quote
