bamboozledguy
Today I went and got me a K-Tec Airo boom pole this is my first boom pole so dont roast me yet. There is one thing that I'm nitpicking about and I think I have a right to do so, The end cap is a threaded metal piece that has a slot for the XLR cable to exit. Is there a way to replace that say with an Ambient Recording Rubber Bumper since the bottom of the original endcap is all scuffed up now (yes I did it but not on purpose). Are there any other options to protect the bottom of my new boom pole besides yellow gaffers tape.
Rick Reineke
Hardware and Home Depot type stores have large size rubber cane tips / round caps. https://www.homedepot.com/b/Caps-Tips/Rubber/N-5yc1vZ1z0xd5qZ1z114to. I use one to keep dirt and debris from getting into the bottom exit XLR on my Avalon when not using the full case.

Derek H
Why not just measure the end of it?

allistair
I've had good luck with the cane tips as well in the past. Just bring the pole to Home Depot. And buy a measuring tape or at least a ruler while you're there!
Ilari Sivil
Calipers. An essential tool for anyone interested in modifying, fixing and building stuff. Not expensive either. Definitely get a measuring tape as well!
