Unfortunately it takes at least 10 tumbleweeds to hop a fence, so that will be a while. However, today is just M1day but tomorrow is 2'sday. The augury of the tumbleweeds will become clear. IronFilm Report post #33 Posted September 11, 2018 https://www.lectrosonics.com/US/Recorder-Accessories/product/spdr.html Quote Stereo Portable Digital Recorder DESCRIPTION Professional quality low noise digital audio recordings in Broadcast Wave Format (iXML metadata) with high dynamic range Compact size for easy bag, plant mic and personal use Records to a microSDHC memory card Wide range input gain adjustment for mic to line level signals AES input for digital signal chains Time code jam/sync from external source Standard Lectrosonics TA5M input jack Lectrosonics “servo bias” input preamp Solid machined aluminum construction Over 20 hours of operation on dual AA lithium batteries Temperature compensating clock accurate to less than 1ppm at all temperatures The SPDR is Lectrosonics’ response to customer demand for a small, lightweight dual channel recorder for use on virtual reality sound captures or as a backup recorder for bag systems in the field. The SPDR will let you capture the full stereo audio of an extreme sport participant, in-car scenes or in situations where a wireless system cannot be used. When used in conjunction with a small mixer and the SRC receiver, the SPDR makes for a lightweight interview setup that provides full redundancy - all fitting into a small fanny pack. The industry standard 5 Pin LEMO time code input allows a simple momentary jam. The high accuracy oscillator allows free running precision better than 1 ppm for those long recording days. Offering the same high definition display as the PDR, the SPDR keypad has a tactile feedback riser on the record button for easy eyes-off recording startup. Dweedle tone commands allow easy start and stop using the PDRRemote app. The SPDR has an external power input with internal battery switchover, allowing all day recording from your bag battery with an immediate fall back to the internal batteries should there be an external power loss. A 32GB memory card allows almost 30 hours of recording time at the 48kHz sample rate. A high-quality headphone output is provided for playback and monitoring. IronFilm Report post #35 Posted September 12, 2018 And now they have a dual channel recorder, Lectrosonics is getting further into the recorder market? While Sound Devices is getting into the wireless market! One day they shall converge.

Jeff Wexler Report post #38 Posted September 12, 2018 With Zaxcom they're not "trying to do" this, they have done it. The level of integration of the entire recording system, at least from Zaxcom, is already very real.

Soon is such a flexible word and could be misleading in meaning, such as soon synonyms: directly early instantly promptly quickly rapidly shortly speedily presently anon any minute now before long betimes by and by coming down the pike ere long expeditiously fast fleetly forthwith hastily in a little while in a minute in a second in a short time in due time in short order in time lickety-split on time posthaste pronto quick short Let's just say, during this year and during this decade. Gordonmoore1 Report post #43 Posted September 12, 2018 Let's put it this way - we have 15 engineers who, if not gainfully employed by us, are scary smart enough to design a new giant laser that would threaten London, forcing MI6 to take Bond out of retirement, driving another Aston Martin (which would leak oil everywhere) and all the subsequent mess that would ensue. We consider it part of our social responsibility to keep them off the street. Well, 15 of them designing away means that occasionally, it is inevitable that a device of unknown portent will emerge form the darkened caverns of engineering. If it sees its beta shadow, it retreat back into the bowels - if it sees only sunlight, it moves into production and propagates. There is the sound of much scurrying and scratching from the depths of the portal......................... and an occasional tumbleweed.
Matthew Steel Report post #44 Posted September 13, 2018 If nothing else I expect a flurry of transmitter re-certifications - like, this month - or there will be problems with having things to sell. That is, unless there is something about the new rules I don't understand - or someone has set up a shell grantee code to thwart my searches on "dbz" Lectro re-certifications have been done at high multiples of tens of thousands of dollars. The FCC doesn't discriminate between users and sellers when it comes to grief. They are an Equal In-Opportune Agency. I'm not sure why they aren't visible yet unless the Feds are just backlogged. Best Regards, Larry Fisher p.s. I actually have a lot of respect and sympathy for the FCC; they are underfunded, overworked and trying to work out the ridiculous mandates thrown at them by Congress. p.s.s. To paraphrase Harry Truman: The Big Companies must really like Congress. They keep trying to buy them.
Patrick Tresch Report post #46 Posted September 13, 2018 Hello Larry, I'm happy about your announcement as I was looking for a buddy with AES input for this guy : Sonosax - M2D2 Do you know if the AES input of the SPDR is compatible with the AES Out of the M2D2? Now I want to ask Sonosax to make a bracket to mount your SPDR on the M2D2. Pat PS: BTW your wiereless system rocks. Keep doing the good work.
LarryF Report post #47 Posted September 13, 2018 Hi Patrick, I can't imagine it's not compatible. AES is AES is AES, to steal from Gertude Stein. If it's not compatible for some esoteric reason, Lectro would get it compatible. Best Regards, Larry Fisher
Gordonmoore1 Report post #48 Posted September 13, 2018 Copious quantities of paperwork are being generated - the testing is done (with one exception which leaves in the next few days) and into the hands of the FCC machine for the re-certifications. Should slide over smoothly on October 13. (One month to go!) Imagine being in the FCC and getting re-submittals for EVERY brand and model of us law abiding wireless microphone manufacturers...... Somewhere, there's a clerk with boxes of paperwork in his office......... silently considering a drastic career change.
