Kisaha
I have the classic Sennheiser mic mount and basket for the 416 but the o rings seem to be too sensitive. Plus, most of the times they have to order from Germany, which takes a lot of time to arrive (I have ordered 3 full sets since July and they told me end of this month or early October). Does any one knows if I can fit something like the K-Tek suspenders, or any Rycote Lyres, or a better quality type of o rings? Do I have to treat them with something to last longer (vaseline perhaps?). Cheers.
Glen Deakin
You could always drill proper holes into your Sennheiser mount and make the lyers work. They are available in an upgrade. Just be careful that you drill the right size holes. Of course you'll have to get the positioning correct

Glen Deakin
Wowa that seems like a lot are you sure you're looking at the right item I believe you can just get the two lyers and not the conbox kit with lyers
Kisaha
I meant the Sennheiser basket/fur cost me as much, and I am affraid to damage it!
Glen Deakin
I've seen the upgrade done on older style rycote systems that are non modular so it can be done just find someone experienced and who knows what size hole needs to be made to accommodate the screw for each lyer. John Blankenship
Yes, the K-Tek Suspenders! I've used them in all manner of mounts and even stretched them over large diameter mic bodies. Since the Suspenders were released many years ago, I no longer use individual bands in any of my basket mounts. TIP: If the mic diameter is small enough that it slips a bit, simply add hardware store O-rings in front of and behind the Suspenders opening. Glen Deakin
I can't see how they would fit on the Sennheiser but if there's a way then give it a go
