Replacement or maintenance, for Sennheiser o rings (416).

I have the classic Sennheiser mic mount and basket for the 416 but the o rings seem to be too sensitive. Plus, most of the times they have to order from Germany, which takes a lot of time to arrive (I have ordered 3 full sets since July and they told me end of this month or early October).

Does any one knows if I can fit something like the K-Tek suspenders, or any Rycote Lyres, or a better quality type of o rings?

Do I have to treat them with something to last longer (vaseline perhaps?).

Cheers.

You could always drill proper holes into your Sennheiser mount and make the lyers work. They are available in an upgrade. Just be careful that you drill the right size holes. Of course you'll have to get the positioning correct

Thanks I will do a little search about it, I would prefer a milder solution thought, that set cost me 900euros not that far away!

Yes, the K-Tek Suspenders!

I've used them in all manner of mounts and even stretched them over large diameter mic bodies.  Since the Suspenders were released many years ago, I no longer use individual bands in any of my basket mounts.

TIP:  If the mic diameter is small enough that it slips a bit, simply add hardware store O-rings in front of and behind the Suspenders opening.

Do they fit the Sennheiser mount?
