Matstadon
Has anyone used the URSA mini mount with Cos-11d? Is it worth the price?
Dave Pullmer
I picked one up and have been happy with it. Creating that space around the mic can be acheived with a more modest means of snot tape and moleskin (or whatever floats your boat), but I always like to have a variety of bits kicking around the wiring kit. I'd recommend it.
Derek H
Is it very smooth? Does it make any noise with fabric rubbing against it? I tried the hide-a-mics and found that with certain fabrics there was an awful hollow plastic scratching sound. The metal wire concept that the DPA concealer uses seems to work more often than not. OnTheSoundSideOfLife
I only compared it with the DPA Concealer, so no clue about the RM-11. Ursa has round edges, less mass and isolates slightly better overall, but it's not a magic noise killer. Here is a quick comparison with a regular t-shirt: Dpa_Concealer.wav Mini_Ursa.wav
VASI
I have Mini Mounts with DPA 4071. Way better from rounded concealer from DPA which you can easily lost parts of it. Also, check the video below from Matt Price during IBC about Mini Mount / Sanken COS 11 and dealing with wind. Starts at 3:

I had good results with them recently under synthetic material which was causing some issues with the rubbery Sanken rm11 mounts. Another useful option to have in the kit for sure. Matstadon
Thanks for all the input. I ended up picking one up and it worked really well against a variety of fabrics and was pretty easy to mount, leaving almost no to low profile.
