664 timecode question

If you set the time code on the 664 to 24h run it will start off with the time of day each time you start it. I guess it is setting itself to the internal time of day. Will that timecode be frame accurate since it is using the system info instead of the time code circuitry.

But will it still be accurate when you start the machine again after a power off, within that period of time the blue TC has been flashing?

Yes.

Sample/Timecode Accuracy
  • ± 0.2 ppm (0.5 frames per 24 hours)
Timecode and Sync
  • Modes Supported: off, Rec Run, Free Run, 24h Run, External
  • Frame Rates: 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97DF, 29.97ND, 30DF, 30ND
  • Accuracy: Ambient generator, 0.5 frame in 24 hr

Yes, we can jam to the internal clock.

This mode is called 24Hr Run. You can either leave the 664 in 24Hr Run or change the TC mode back to Free Run.

The generator will hold good code for 2 hours. After that it will shut down and you will get all 00s on power up if you are in Free Run.

Thank you. 24Hr Run always selected has been working great for me. Very convenient solution.
