Joachim Heden
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but...For a very specific application we need to record audio from inside a full face dive mask to a ZFR400 recorder. We have the waterproofing of the recorder figured out (3D printing a custom case) but now comes the microphone...One option is the VT500WATER,https://www.vt-switzerland.com/en/vt-500waterBut the IPX7 rating is a little borderline... The dive mask can/will be flooded at between 1 and 3 meters for 1-2 minutes max... so it "should" be ok.The second option is the mic typically used for under water communication in full face masks. It is a dynamic mic called ME-16Rhttp://www.uswaterrescue.com/mobile/...ode=912086-000This mic will survive any flooding of the mask that will occur. So here is the question, and maybe it's dumb / have an obvious answer: Can we use the ME-16R, a dynamic mic, with the ZFR400?Grateful for answers/input.All the best,Joachim

glenn
You can use a dynamic mic with the ZFR400. It would be best to wire in a series capacitor with the mic to block the DC bias. About 2.2uF would be fine. Glenn
