Comtek stereo headphone M72 RX cable to XLR

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

This night i need to build a strange bridge. first time for me.

So i need to take the signal of a Comtek 72 RX and plug it to a sennheiser G3.

I was making tests with standard cables, but they didn't work. Comtek doesn't turn on.

So i'll build a pair of new jumpers.

Someone has a diagram to do that?

A 3.5 to XLR male cable can be of help to...

I can figure out but i have not too mutch time to hang around.

Thanks for your ideas!

Fabian

From the 72 RX to a G3 TX? You have to come out of the headphone jack on the RX with a 3.5mm mono plug. The XLR cable should be wired as follows, The wire from the tip goes to pin 2 of the XLR, the ground/shield of the 3.5mm goes to pin 1 & 3 creating an unbalanced signal path. Turn up the 72 RX output control and adjust the G3 TX input control. An XLR will not fit a Sennheiser G3 TX input as it's a 3.5mm TRS locking connector. The wiring for the 3.5mm G3 input cable is simple. If you're sending a mic level signal then it's tip to tip, if it's a line level signal then the tip of the 72 cable connects to the ring and you ground the tip to the sleeve.
