nbongabong
Are Tentacle timecode syncs reliable generators when jam synced in a multi-camera shoot? Will the timecode keep if all other cameras are hard wired to the source?
Csaba Major
Yes, you don't need hard wired contact. They are so reliable. If you jammed once at the beginning of the day, they are keep sync whole day, without any drifting. I have shooted lots of movies with 2 or 3 cameras with this tiny little creatures, without any problem. But you have to watch your monitor, because sometimes, after the camera battery change, or after the frame rate change the alexa minis can't synchronised automatically. In this case the camera send a red allert on its monitor output. In some corner of your screen. But normally just synced without any human action. IronFilm
Tentacles are very reliable. Jam it at the start of the day and it will stay accurate down to the frame all day long. Any errors will be down to human or camera errors.
Trey LaCroix
One jam all day no drift. Simple as that. They rule!
Mattias Larsen
They are super! The only time you will have an issue is when they are not jammed. The wireless jamming is also very convenient. Just put one on each camera, mixer that you need to sync and jam them with the app when you are close to them all. Have a look at the camera monitor that the TC is correct, try and figure out which camera you will shoot with and do the research about TC settings if possible beforehand. Patrick Tresch
All good points. But the wired thing make me think they are possibly on Trisynch? Like fore 3D shoot or for a multicam setup? Not the same thing as a TC synch. I hope it isn't so.
