The rechargeables are best right out of the battery charger. The NP-50 batteries will have a temporarily higher voltage right off the charger but that voltage falls quickly to a "normal" value. Li-ion batteries only lose 2% of their charge per month (!) unlike some high capacity NiMh batteries that can lose 15% or more in a day after being fast charged. All this to say, you can charge a Li-Ion NP-50 and use it a week later with almost unmeasurable capacity loss.
