mano
Hello everybody! I wanted to know if anybody has experience with the Kortwich line of microphones? They have some interesting designs. I'd be interested in the MS/Stereo combo mic, the NierePro version for transmitters and the KugelPro version for cars (maybe the better Cub?) I never heard them, but on the website they state something like "gain of a Sennheiser, sound of a Schoeps" Anybody got some real life experience with those? haifai
mmh, i have experience with their figure 8, its a little bit better then the emesser but not at all comparable with km 120 or schoeps ccm 8, the sound is miles away, the kortwich fig. 8 is made of two back to back electret cardioid elements from the cheaper sennheiser lines. For cardioid / omni or hyper mics i would look at a used neumann km 140 , 130 or 150 or at the microtech gefell m300/m310, better sound for not much more money... Philip Perkins
Does Kortwich make mics themselves, or is this a case of badge-engineering?
Mattias Larsen
6 hours ago, Philip Perkins said: Does Kortwich make mics themselves, or is this a case of badge-engineering? It is another German company that produces the capsules. I think it is similair to how Ambient/Audix/Soundfield uses MBHO capsules.
Lucas
If you are looking for something small... I just saw that the Russian microphone manufacturer Nevaton has released a small mic with pretty nice specs: http://nevaton.eu/product/nevaton-mc-59-super-small-condenser-microphone/ Haven't tried them, but there is some temptation. Yes, in fact Im looking for something small, Fig8 that keeps me from spending money on a Schoeps, which adds a Side to the MKH50. Thanks for the russian link, I'll look into it!
