Incredible story of that "time reference" channel and its mistake (500Hz instead of 250 Hz) that took two years to be understood ! I dream of having been Mr Scott’s assistant !

In the 60's when I worked at ATV Network I remember being assigned to our sound fx studio one evening

and recording a big light entertainment show on a C37 Studer 2 track recorder.

 

No time-code then so audio on 1 track and the UK speaking clock on the other.
