dougafresh
Hey folks! I'm trying to figure out the best Zaxnet antenna for my Nomad. Seeking the best compromise between (1) decent signal range (2) unobtrusive form factor in the bag and (3) minimal stress on the Nomad's antenna mount. I've been using an antenna that's ~4 inches sticking straight up (pictured), but have had some issues with my bag and harness putting pressure on it, causing the mount to loosen. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
John Blankenship
A short extension cable from the connector to the antenna.
Shastapete
http://www.l-com.com/wireless-antenna-24-ghz-5-dbi-omni-blade-antenna-sma-male-connector I just ordered one of these, planning to loop the antenna through the webbing on the front of my Ktek bag. With a right angle adapter on the SMA it should both get the antenna out into the open as well as take the stress off of the connector
DennisT
I use one of these, in the front pouch of my bag. Have to put your own connector on though. I believe they sell a wired version on ebay. https://www.wa5vjb.com/products6.html

Apcki
You could also look into Lectro jointed antenna. https://www.locationsound.com/lectrosonics-amj-color-coded-whip-antenna-1365¤cy=USD&language=en?gclid=Cj0KCQjwivbsBRDsARIsADyISJ_PHkNDP9RrorP0CKkvwWsNmg5Ht0eICEVYcrCRngl5NoOSUd0t6dMaAuEyEALw_wcB

There is difference between both. Off course it will work but not optimal. There are a lot of 2.4gHz antennas available just make sure it is not reversed polarity. Digikey is a good source. Or Lcom You can also just point the antenna down.

Mike Robertson
Why do you think it wouldn’t help? Just curious, I don’t know too much about WiFi signal boosting.

You can try a bigger antenna and it makes a little difference.
Shastapete
That hak5 link is a .8 watt amplifier, so I'm sure it'll help

Still those specks look like advertising mumbo jumbo. Do try it. Maybe it helps.
azw
It works. I certainly do get increased range - and many less complaints from IFB users. 🙂

ramallo
Not for bag, I have nice results with high directional antennas such as the 2.4 CP Beam from RF Venue
