Johnny Karlsson
If this works as advertised, it looks like it could be a great tool. https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/introducing-dialogue-match.html?utm_medium=Email&utm_source=ACS&utm_campaign=2019+iZo+Newsletter&utm_content=All&utm_term=Nov+9 And hopefully will not become an excuse to foregoing getting good sound on set... Jay Rose
It's available only as an offline Audiosuite for PT. There are lots of professional posties on Nuendo plus composer/editors on music DAWs, as well as PT users who have other platforms on the same machine. I asked iZotope when they're going to have either a VST or a desktop version (ala Rx7), and they said they can't talk about it yet. Apparently they're still deciding if it's worth it! There's a popup on iZotope's product page, where you can 'vote' for a non-PT version. Please do so.
Philip Perkins
I'm hoping that a consequence of the success of this app and its wide acceptance (as with RX) might mean that editors and RRMs could more often try to base a scene's "sound" on the boom, instead of immediately going with all-lavs in case there is a shot the boom could not cover. There would be confidence that they could bridge gaps in the boom track (as in very wide shots) with the lav sound and get away with it. TVPostSound
Dialog Match helps. Also using Proximity EQ+ with Dialog Match will help a lav to match a boom.
