JLMoore3rd
I remember reading a post about comfy add-on headphone pads & was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. After reading the post about the Etymotic ER-4S, I was thinking about finding a set of pads for my 7506's that might help during the summer... Anyone have a lead? David Waelder
Check with Dave Pebworth in the Parts Department at Location Sound. (818-980-9891) I think they are selling the Beyer headset pads as a match to the Sony 7506s but David would be able to confirm or suggest an alternate. The Beyers (assuming I have that correct) are a bit thicker and have a fabric or fabric-like covering that is less sweat inducing. The fit is perfect. Oh, now I see you didn't want "replacements." Well the Garfield Audio pads fit over existing pads. Garfield Audio products are distributed by PSC and available at Location Sound or Coffey Sound. (888-293-3030) Or, if you really meant you didn't want to replace the whole headset, just the pads, I'd go with the Beyers. Matthias Richter
Or, if you really meant you didn't want to replace the whole headset, just the pads, I'd go with the Beyers. David Waelder you can get the Beyers either with soft surface or leather like. http://jwsound.net/SMF/index.php?topic=3642.msg25318#msg25318 Matthias
John Blankenship
FWIW: I've tried both the Garfield and the Beyer approach and much prefer the Beyers. I've bought two sets of them now and expect to buy more in the future. With the Garfields, I tried them for a while and then took them off. I'm not sure I can even recall exactly why I quit using them. Compared to the stock Sony pads, I like the way the Beyers fit over the ears better, they offer more isolation, and they're comfy. I'm only aware of the Beyer DT250 pads being available with "Velour Padded Earcushions." John B.
soundtrane
The Garfields are too intrusive to use. They may be comfortable, but not conducive... -vin
